Gigabit Lakeland - Golden Egg Poster

Year: 2015

Gigabit Lakeland was a grassroots initiative aimed at bringing gigabit internet to Lakeland, Florida. One of the approaches explored was treating internet access as a utility akin to water or electricity. This strategic move aimed to narrow the digital divide by ensuring equitable access to online resources such as job applications and educational courses, which can be hindered by slow internet speeds.

To raise awareness about this crucial initiative, a public education campaign was launched.

As part of this effort, I designed a poster tailored to resonate with the people of Lakeland. Given that the swan is a prominent symbol of the city, adorning major buildings, events, and government organizations, I incorporated the concept of the ‘golden egg’ with the swan symbol into the poster.
